Veritas 8 house alarm manual

The system is now in walk test mode. It is advisable to perform this test with 2 people — one person watching the keypad and one person walking round the property. Each zone corresponds to the LED lights Check each LED lights up red when each sensor is activated and should turn off once each sensor deactivates. Enter your four digit user code and press [PROG] to enter the use menu. Press [4] followed by number corresponding to the desired event, 1 being most recent and 7 least recent.

The zone that caused the initial alarm activation will flash, and any subsequently opened zones will also be shown not flashing.

However the alarm panel is now frozen with 7 of the 8 zone lights showing as red, along with the tamper light flashing red and the unset is steady green. What is the best thing course to action for me to take now to get it back to normal.

Reaction score 2, The panel requires a full nvm reset, so consult the install manual. UNG - Mentor. Reaction score 3, And probably a new battery!! Click to expand Prat P. Thanks in advance. Please find attached manual Reaction score Hi try disconnecting battery then mains. Count to 10 then connect battery black then battery red. Panel should bleep all leds lit. Put your code in. Tamper showing.

Put panel lid on. Connect mains. Press reset. If not ok now sounds as though panel shot. An NVM factory reset is the only way to reset a locked panel, hence the manual so the OP can program his own settings and code. Glad you sorted it. I know a 2. Hi - my thanks for all replies regarding this little problem i had - particularly plantpots step by step guide which has helped me set the alarm back to normal for me!

I also intend to now purchase a new battery for the alarm with. I investigated further and found one of the wires to be broken outside of the PIR. I cut these back and refitted but still no Red Light activating. Panel removed and fuses checked, one had blown so I replaced it and reset the panel also whilst the cover was off. Attempted to arm system again and all seemed well but now no external strobe or bell working, fuse replaced. Hopefully this time problem solved, but no now back to the ten beeps when activating the alarm and Green Light Flashing on the Control Box and Both Keypads.

Mains supply fuse now replaced and system working fine. Its been a Pain and it has been powered down and powered back up properly each time and reset each time.

Regards Peter Peter J October The s man June is absolutely spot on. Thank you , you saved a lot of expense and frayed tempers! Louemmell July Thanks to someone else who posted this! Worked for me after a power cut and I replaced the internal battery as it was corroded. Remove the lid of the control panel,be prepaired for the sounders to start, dont panic turn off the mains supply to the control panel then remove one of the battery leads.

There is a spring in the middle at the top of the circuit board turn on the mains supply and press this spring in and release again three times. Reconnect the battery lead, refit the lid of the panel. The code number is now enter this number then press reset. You should now be able to use this system now.

The S Man June Thank you Jackie from September Just saved my life literally my dad might of murdered me triped it and couldn't get the alarm working is now thank you!!!!!!

My mother on law has had her rewiring done and alarm worked before but won't set now. Brilliant advice, our alarm sounded when the electricity supply went down!

No matter how many times we tried the code would not work! And the alarm kept setting too "full" simply press "reset" then your individual alarm code "reset" and the system should unset and work again!!

Thanks for the help : Jacqueline September I have just bought this device and i connected the 1st zone and when i tested it , i put my hand in front of the sensor , the led on board made on signals and thats ok but the speaker didn't make any sound even i checked the connection and its working!! After reading all the comments Hull January Thanks bilal December Help electric keeps tripping and now I've found that my battery life is caput!

What can I do it's Does anyone know what wires I disconnect in the panel to at least stop the sound?? Thanks Daz April As all connections are exactly the same as the original it shouldnt be hard and setup zones yourself. Dont forget to remove the fuse from the spur to isolate the unit. Locking out panels with locked engineers codes is borderline illegal as any sub contractor, employee for the alarm comapny can enter your home and reset your alarm, these companys keep the same codes for years meaning employees have access to hundreads of properties.

Meanwhile the home owner who bought and paid for an electrical item which they cannot use is forced to pay yearly maintenance incase the "resistance" of the cable got worse lol sorry but as a spark i cant help but laugh at maintenance on alarms, it works or doesnt - simples Craig Spark September During carpet removal I managed to cut through a cable and 5 wires inside.

Is there a fuse in the main panel that could have blown? Paul July Remove the mains power supply and battery. Reconnect the battery and press the tamper spring 3 times. Enter user code If the battery is duff or almost flat, none of the above works. It may seem to power up but not accept a code. Duff battery Use a good battery and you may find that your original code works after all. A word of warning. If you default the panel to factory setting codes, and the engineer code is locked.

I've seen that the system needs powering down to reset the engineer code - is that correct? If so, how exactly do I power down as I can't find the socket or switch that relates to the alarm to be able to turn it off or is there some other way of powering down? The default engineers code is and the default user code is or the other way round on some units.

The power should be from a fused spur point somewhere near the control box not the keypad if remote , but remember the internal bettery will still power it without the mains. I've got an installation manual in PDF format for the Texecom Veritas 8 that gives the instructions on what you want to do. I got it after being held to ransom by the local alarm company who'd changed it but wouldn't tell me the number for security reasons found that was due to them using same number for all the alarms they "serviced" - some security!

If you'd like the installation manual emailed to you then just text your email address to me at Stephen March
