Sims 3 relationships guide

Breaking up depends on the current status of the long-term relationship. If two Sims are married, you have to sink the relationship with negative Short-Term Contexts. The Sim s will need to be mean, rude, and insulting.

Once the relationship is low enough, the "Divorce" social will become an option. If two Sim are engaged and sink the relationship, the "Break Up" social will become available. It's a Date Go on a date. Around the same time, you should be able to get the two Sims to kiss. Just select this option in the romance interaction section and you'll get yet another achievement:. After a bit more romantic discussions, you should be able to see the "Woohoo" option in the romance interaction section.

Make sure you have a bed for two in your house and try picking this option. It doesn't always work the first time and if it doesn't it'll result in a "--" from the other Sim. This usually only happens if one of the Sims involved is unhappy, so work on building up their happiness, then build the relationship with the other Sim up again and try "Woohoo" again.

Once you get it to work, pop goes the next achievement:. Woo Hoo! Make Woo Hoo. Right around this time, you should see an option in the romance section to "Take things steady. You should then see an option to propose to the other Sim. This will get you the next achievement. Feel free to throw a party! The Big Proposal Get engaged. Once of your romantic options will eventually be "Try for baby. You'll know your Sim is pregnant when you hear a little jingle and a pop-up will inform you.

A few days later, a baby will arrive! Another way to get this one is to select your Sim and have them interact with themself.

Choose the phone option and go to Services. Select Adoption Service and adopt a child. Both of these ways will get you the achievement:. Once a Parent, Always a Parent Welcome a child into the family. Moving on with the romantic relationships, the next logical path to take would be to Matchmaker. This one requires you to start 5 romantic relationships. A romantic relationship in this game counts dating and getting married as two separate relationships.

If you've been following this walkthrough, how convenient! You already have 2 relationships in the books 1 for dating, 1 for marriage. Note: You may want to refrain from saving if you intend to continue with this household which I'd recommend, but it's up to you. The next step is to have one Sim divorce the other. Whichever one is initiating the divorce will be your focus for the remainder of this achievement since the receiver gets pretty upset.

Once divorced, have your Sim start getting flirty with other Sims until you can "Take things steady. Regardless, once you get your 5th relationship underway, you'll earn this achievement:. Matchmaker Start 5 romantic relationships. Before we continue to the next grouping of achievements, let's revert back to our happy Sim couple with their new baby. Buy the baby a birthday cake Entertainment menu, then Party menu and have them become a toddler. For the toddler phase, you have the option to train 3 skills: talking, walking, and potty training.

Make sure the toddler learns all of these! It's easiest to turn off aging in the options menu if you haven't already while working on this. Talking and walking is easy to train as you simply have any adult Sim interact with the toddler.

Just have the toddler interact with this and you'll have all 3 skills learned in no time. After this, buy another birthday cake and have the toddler blow out the candles to become a child. You now have the option to choose the child's traits.

I found it easiest and most profitable long-term to have the child become a writing and painting pro. So, I'd recommend choosing the Artistic and Bookworm traits. Have the child go to a computer it's time to buy one if you haven't already and have them practice writing. You could also have them go to an easel also time to purchase one and paint. Eventually, you'll see the "Illustrious Author" lifetime wish pop up. Choose this as the child's wish and just keep working at it. Note: Using the "Stroke of Genius" karma power will help speed up the writing and artistic skills significantly.

You can get this power by having any of your Sims attend a class in town and then going to the challenge shop and purchasing the karma power.
