Pirate games for children parties

You can get the treasure chest here and the frisbees here. We marked off and area for a couple of relay games and divided kids into teams. We gave each kid a water gun and each kid a beach ball. We had a little splash pool filled with water at one end of the yard and empty buckets at the other. The teams had to fill their water guns and the water to push the beach ball to one end of the yard, have it tap the bucket and push it back.

A kid would push the ball until they ran out of water and then the next teammate would run up and take over. You can get pirate party games beach balls here. The teams would fill their guns and run from one end of the yard to the other and squirt their gun into the bucket. The first team to fill their bucket with water wins. Hint — let the entire team work on it all at once or the game will take too long. Let the kids have a blast getting each other wet in all out water fight.

For this we let them also use the water sponges from the ducky throw and strategically filled water stations all over the yard. You can get that tutorial here. At the end of the hunt, find an interesting place marked with a large X to hide a treasure chest filled with a goodie box with each kids name on it.

Draw a treasure map with details such as palm trees, lakes and animals. Tear the edges to age and if you really want an authentic look burn the edges briefly and stain the map with tea bags. Take the map and hold it up against a window or bulb to reveal the X that is on the back and where the treasure is! Then push a wrapped candy cane halfway down into it. Now empty a large bag of pretzels into a bowl. Other kid pirates can have squirt bottles and can be instructed to squirt the plank walker if they touch the ground.

Hang cored apples at the kids height. Then the kids have to bite the apple with their hands behind their backs. Buy some temporary tattoos and let the kids try them out on their skin. A pirate knows how to choose a good fierce tattoo. Just make sure an adult or an older kid will assist the little ones in putting the temporary tattoos on. Another fun activity to do at your Pirate Party is this Pin-the-patch game. The kid who pinned the nearest patch on the eye of the pirate wins! You can buy this template I saw on Etsy.

If you plan to set up a photo booth at your party then make sure to make or buy some Pirate photo booth props! This downloadable Pirate photo booth template I saw on Etsy is a cute one. If your little pirate is an artsy one, you can also set up an activity where kids can paint their own chest.

You can purchase small wooden chest online and add some poster paints and brushes at your "Paint-a-chest" corner. Set up a board with Pirate hooks on it and make your guests toss plastic hoops to it. The one who gets to put the hoop into the hook gets a price! Another game you can organize is this Cannonball Toss Game. Just prepare some black balloons and fill it with water or any liquid you want. This might be a little messy to play if the water balloon burst but it will be a fun game for everyone.

Aye, Aye there you have it! It works best for eight or fewer players, and one of them hunts for a ticking crocodile. The game is much fun, especially for fans of Peter Pan. This game works better with music, and the kids have to dance around and entertain themselves.

The kids also learn to hop around on one leg as they still dance, and the one who can stay long becomes the winner. The game teaches kids some dancing, motor skills, and balancing. The kids have to fight like real pirates using a breadstick for a sword, with the goal being to break the breadstick of your opponent.

The other kids observe and cheer, waiting for their turn too for the one who loses. Each moment the kids yearn for their opportunity to join the league.

The players have to be keen on their breadsticks, not to breaks, or else they have to surrender the fight. A stuffed parrot is a classic music game player that you stop randomly as the kids dance. The kids also get to exercise as they dance. The parrot should copy the word that the pirate says. But to make it fun, the parrot becomes naughty and says the opposite, so the child should have a sharp memory of giving opposite words as the music stops.

A game that best suits older kids due to the high level of patience required. The kids learn to aim at the ball with water spray and focus on pushing the beach ball. The team plays in turns to see who moves the ball further with their water guns, and if one team runs out of water, the other takes over. Younger kids can quickly get irritated with the tactics used for the game and lack patience.
